I am finally back and ready to start riding again. I live in Las Vegas now so I am excited to ride over the winter. Sorry about the blog neglect but I promise I will be better. I have been thinking about buying one of those new Motobecane 29ers and seeing how light i can make it. Stay tune. If any one has one of these 29ers please let me know what you think of it.

I'm loving my fantom team. How much do you weigh and what psi/dampening settings do you set your front and rear shocks?

Hello Average Joe,
I just got the Fantom Team and had three questions about the rear suspension.
1) Are there any suggestions on how I can tune the suspension? 2)I noticed that the rear-suspension air intake is looking to the back which makes it very hard to hook a pump to it, what is the best way you think to disconnect the suspension and adjust this inlet so it is looking forward?
3) I see that there are three positions on the frame that we can adjust the rear suspension (it came connected to middle hole). Which position is yours in and do you have a recommendation?
Thank you in advance.

Resat reply: First of all undo the top bolt holding the rear shock in place. The middle setting is for 4 inches. the forward setting is 5 and the one to the back is 3. I always left it on 5in but I lived where it was pretty rocky. Just mess with different settings. While you have the shock bolt out the air valve will rotate out. Just rotate it out and leave it there then put the bolt back in. On setting up the suspension it takes time to find what you like. start with 20% sag in the back which you can read on the shock body. You know you have 20% percent when you carefully get off the bike and the o ring is no lower than the 20% mark. So air up the shock, carefully get on the bike with all your weight and get off and check it or have some look for you. U adjust the the rear shocks dampening by opening all the way open and riding off a curb over and over again while making small adjustments till the bike does not bounce when you land off the curb. The fork is 5 inches so you will want 1 1/4 of sag. Put a zip tie on the stanction tube and carefully get on the bike with all your weight positioned how you would ride and allow the for to compress. Adjust air till the zip tie is 1 1/4 inches from the fork seal. Let me know if this helps.

CLC Reply: Fork setting is by weight and riding style. You have to set up your sag. Google it. Every thing is on there.
